Tom’s interest in photography started at an early age with a fascination with his Dad’s SLR film camera’s. This fascination continued and in 1996 he enrolled at Newcastle College to study photography. This is where he developed his real passion for photography. Working with 35mm film, learning the fundamentals of photography, lighting, darkroom and developing techniques. This led to working for local newspapers and magazine’s shooting a wide range of subjects including advertising, fashion and live music.
During extensive travel to Australia, Europe, Canada and the USA Tom came to the realisation that his true love of photography lay in Landscape, being outdoors walking, hiking or being by the coast. In 2009 Tom moved Llandudno in North Wales on the doorstep of Snowdonia National Park where he has been able to develop his own distinctive style in Landscape and Long Exposure photography.
‘There is never a dull moment amongst the beautiful scenery this area has to offer ranging from snow on the mountains, glorious sunshine, beautiful sunsets and storms coming in from the sea.’
Tom has teamed up with Camera workshops where he teaches workshops, one to one lessons and small groups throughout North Wales and the UK.
He is an official Formatt-hitech ambassador, one of the world’s leading photographic filter companies.
